Lettering, carving and sculpture

The abilty to embed a memory within a line, a mark or a word.

In my sketch book I try to captured a narrative snapshot my life and those who I share it with. Using a combination of words and images I draw directly and without planning, this is a nice contast to much of my commissioned work.

Through years of working in this way I have gained a greater understanding of how I work and what much of my work is about.

The narrative, the memory, to capture a feeling of place, time and identity.

These themes are a constant in all aspects of my work.
